Birth Registration
New Application
According to the Births and Deaths Registration Act of 2004 of Bangladesh, the birth of any Bangladeshi national must be registered with a designated birth registrar (Bangladesh Consulates/Embassies/ High Commissions abroad if born overseas).
A. For Adult Bangladesh Nationals
- Printed copy of duly filled in and signed online Birth Registration application form
- Recent passport-size colour photo- 2 (Two) copies with white background; [Not Older than 6 months]
- Original Passport with photocopy of the photo page
- Photocopy of PSC/JSC/SSC/HSC certificate or a citizenship certificate from the ward commissioner or chairman of the respective Union Parishad/Upazila
- Proof of ‘Permanent Address’ if different from that on the passport
B. For Minors (Year 1-18)
- Printed copy of duly filled in and signed online Birth Registration application form
- Recent passport-size colour photo- 2 (Two) copies with white background; [Not Older than 6 months]
- Original Bangladeshi Passport with photocopy of the photo page
- Photocopy of the Parents’ passport
- Child’s overseas birth certificate [original] & photocopy. Translated copy required if certificate is issued in other than English. Attestation from the respective embassy of the issuing country and MoFA, Dubai is required.
- Copy of Marriage certificate and Nakahama of the child’s parents duly attested by MoFA, Dhaka
C. For Newborn (0-1 year)
- Printed copy of duly filled in and signed online Birth Registration application form
- Recent passport-size colour photo- 2 (Two) copies with white background; [Not Older than 6 months]
- Photocopy of the child’s passport [If any]
- Photocopy of the Parents’ passport
- Child’s UAE birth certificate [original] & photocopy. Translated copy required if certificate is issued in other than English. Attestation of MoFA, Dubai is required.
- Copy of Marriage certificate and Nakahama of the child’s parents duly attested by MoFA, Dhaka
Exceptional or Special Circumstance:
- Please contact the Consulate General if either of the parents are a foreign-born national.
- Documents originating in Bangladesh (eg. marriage certificate, name change certificate etc.) must be attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bangladesh following necessary requirements.
- Documents originating in UAE (e.g. marriage certificate) must be first attested/authenticated by MoFA, UAE before its submission to the Consulate.
Fee: AED 10
Additional processing fee may be charged by the service centre.
Fees are non-refundable even if the application is unsuccessful or withdrawn.

STEP 1: Apply online
STEP 2: Submit all supporting documents along with the application to the service centre (Foshwa Global)
STEP 3: Collect your Certificate from the service centre
All birth certificates are issued within three (3) working days.
Birth Certificate Correction
Who Are Eligible: Birth certificates that were issued from the Consulate General of Bangladesh in Dubai since 2012 can only be corrected and issued at the Consulate General. Any other birth certificates have to be corrected from the respective issuance office.

- Printed copy of duly filled in online Birth Registration Correction application form and signed accordingly
- Recent passport size colour photo- 2 (Two) copies with white background; [Not Older than 6 months]
- Original Passport with photocopy of photo page
- Photocopy of PSC/JSC/SSC/HSC certificate/ a citizenship certificate from the Ward Commissioner or Chairman of the Union Parishad/Upazila
- Proof of English and Bangla name [Chairman/ Ward Commissioner Certificate in Bangla]
- Proof of Permanent address if different than passport
- Fee Payment Slip
