A. WHO ARE ELIGIBLE?
Foreign nationals of Bangladeshi origin (except SAARC nations) are eligible to receive NVR on their foreign passports to enter Bangladesh. Their spouses (under certain conditions) and children also qualify for this endorsement.
B. DURATION
The NVR grants its holder multiple entries into Bangladesh with an unlimited duration of stay within the validity of the passport.
Important: The Consulate General reserves the right to reject any application at any time without ascertaining any reason.
1. NVR for Bangladeshi Passport or Birth Certificate Holder:
- Duly filled in online application. Please apply through visa.gov.bd
- A Photocopy of Bangladeshi passport or a 17 digit online verifiable Bangladeshi Birth Certificate or a National ID card. You must bring the original copy during in person submission.
- One passport size photograph attached with the filled in online application form (glued not stapled)
- Proof of Residence in the UAE (Emirates ID/ Visa)
2. NVR for Spouse
- Duly filled in online application. Please apply through visa.gov.bd
- Photocopy of Bangladeshi passport or a national ID Card (NID) or a 17 digit online verifiable Bangladeshi Birth Certificate of the spouse
- Marriage certificate duly attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dhaka
- One passport-size photograph attached to the printed application (glued not stapled)
- The applicant and his/her spouse must be physically present at the Consulate General on the day of appointment for interview.
- Proof of residence in the UAE of the spouse and the applicant (Emirates ID/ Visa)
NB: NVR on spouse’s previous passport will not qualify the spouse for an NVR. Husband or the wife must have a Bangladeshi Passport/NID/ Bangladeshi Birth Certificate for such eligibility.
3. NVR for children whose parents have a Bangladeshi document
- Duly filled in online application. Please apply through visa.gov.bd
- Photocopy of Bangladeshi passport or National ID Card (NID) or Bangladeshi Birth Certificate of the parents
- Birth Certificate of the child where parents name is clearly mentioned [In English]
- One passport-size photograph attached to the printed application (glued not stapled)
- Proof of residence (Emirates ID/ Visa)
Note: Parents’ NVR on the previous passport will not qualify the children for an NVR. Any one of the parents must have a Bangladeshi Passport/NID/Birth Certificate.
Fee: AED 350 (Payable only in cash)

- NVR fee is non-refundable even if the application is rejected or withdrawn.
- Fees are subject to change without prior notice.

NVR application processing time may vary from applicant to applicant, and in some cases, additional administrative process may be required. We cannot expedite these requirements; therefore, we recommend that you do not purchase air ticket until you have received your passport along with the NVR.
The Consulate General of Bangladesh requires at least seven (07) working days to process a standard NVR application.
If an interview is required, the Consulate General will contact the applicant and provide date and time for the interview.
